The 5K - a great distance for beginners, casual runners looking to keep fit and competitive racers alike. We’ve got 15 of these 3.1 milers on the calendar for next year (not including those that are associated with multi-distance events like Surftown and NU Hartford). Learn more about changes and promotions to come and don’t forget to post in comments below to win free registration to any HMF 5K.
Because many of our 3.1 mile events are associated with great causes and community partners, many participants don’t even realize the event is HMF produced or that there’s bound to be another one just around the corner. In 2015, look for the new "What’s Your Next Race?" promotion to learn more about upcoming events similar to those you’re already running. We are also expanding our HMF Frequent Milers program, details to be announced early next year. We've also got great training programs in store for beginners, so encourage a buddy to come along and share your love of running!
We have two popular 5K series coming back in 2015, kicking off the season with the three O’races. These fun and festive 5Ks will provide another trinity medal opportunity to boost your bragging rights in March.

I'd love to win an entry to the Red Dress Run for Women! I always enjoy the portion of the Hartford Half in Elizabeth park and would love to run a 5k there as well.
ReplyDeleteThe O'Niantic 5K would be fun to run. I am working on running a race in all 169 towns in CT and do not have one in Niantic yet.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Alice, you are the randomly selected winner! Please send us an inbox message on Facebook for details on claiming your prize.
DeleteI'd love to run the O hartford! I missed it last year and would love a second chance at it.
ReplyDeleteIt would mean the world to me to do my favorite activity with my favorite people...aka running the Red Dress Run with my mom/running buddy/cancer survivor/inspiration and my little sister who has yet to fall in love with running, but is getting closer each day.
ReplyDeleteI would love to run in the Fast Trak rack! It's right behind my apartment :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to win an entry to the Red Dress Run! I ran it for the first time last summer and majorly PRed. I'd love to keep the momentum going at this wonderful, all-women race! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win an entry to the CT RACE IN THE PARK run. It was my first 5k last year and was truly inspiring. It gave me the desire to run meaningful 5k's throughout the year.
ReplyDeleteThe red dress run for women is always a great run! Can't beat the
ReplyDeleteThe rose garden * :)
DeleteI wanted to do the red dress run for women this year but couldn't do to work. I'd really love to win an entry to it!!
ReplyDeleteI just missed the Red Dress Run this year, so I would love to try it in 2015!! I loved the bracelets that were given out!
ReplyDeleteI love the scramble series 0 this year will be the 3rd year for me -plan on signing up for all 3. I ran the Red dress 2 years ago - so fun, but really any event you guys do are so fun.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win an entry to the Blum Shapiro 5K race to wreak vengeance on the hill on Vincy Rd that had me walking after completing 2/3 of my second 5K race ever. While last year I was able to say I came and I saw; I want to finish the quote and conquer that hill this year! Help me start of 2015 living the motto: Veni, vidi, vinci!

I'd like to win an entry to the Blue Back Mitten Run. It's always been my favorite way to finish the running season. Love the finishing chute!
ReplyDeleteI want to try all three O' races, so I'd love to win an entry to one of the three. Preferably O'Putnam for the kickoff!!
ReplyDeleteThe Scrambles are the awesome! Best 'Happy Hour' in Hartford during the summer. I've been running them for the past 5 years and they've gotten better every year! Thanks HMF.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win an entry to the Red Dress Run. I have never run an all women's race, and my friends who have run it have had great things to say about it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe Freedom Run was a pleasant surprise this year. I decided to run it simply because I had a free Sunday morning, and it turns out I loved the race and had a blast. I was a fun course with nice scenery. I look forward to running it again in 2015, whether it's free or if I pay for it.
ReplyDeleteThis year was the year of new 5K's, and I loved the Freedom Run!! Great course, very different, I also loved the Zombie Chase, which isn't listed for 2015 which is a let down, but looking forward to heading to as many races this year as I can!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win an entry to the Corey's Catsup & mustard 5K. I've run 5 of your 5K events already and would like to run a new race and town. Also like that it's an evening race for something different!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win a slot for the Red Dress Run for Women. Have heard so much about it from people I know. Plus I enjoy Elizabeth Park.

I love to win entry to the Red Dress Run for Women. Last year was my first year of running and I missed it. This year it's on my daughters 11th birthday and we're planning to run it together.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to kick off the season with Max O! Also, we always have a mother daughter team at Red Dress with the team name: Hot Run, Hotter Runners =) My mom was on Team HMF this year and she has been a wonderful influence on my dad, sister and I to continue to stay active. So proud of her.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win an entry for the Norwich Winterfest. My daughter and I ran this year and had such a great time. Community mental health is very important and I would rather donate the cost of the race directly to the Reliance House. Either way, we will definitely be there in 2015!
ReplyDeleteThe O'Niantic 5k!! It's such a fun race for all ages! There are even 3 distant for the kids to choose from!
ReplyDeleteIt's a tough call on deciding which race I would like free entry to. I want to do all of them! Since we have to pick one, I will go with the Rentschler Airfield 5K. I did this race in 2014 and absolutely loved it. The post-race food was really memorable. The Cabela's elk burger, Olde Burnside Brewing Company beer and Faddy's Donuts made this an event to look forward to in 2015.
ReplyDeleteWill there be a medal for 5K finishers for the Max's O'Hartford 5K race this year? I want a medal so bad!!! haha ;)
